Anisah Miley, LCSW

PSYCHOTHERAPIST | MOM | POTENTIAL DOG OWNER | SMOOTHIE AFICIONADO

My mission is to guide clients as they heal, grow, and find their way back to themselves and others by honoring their stories, identities, and the wisdom held in the body, while welcoming every part with compassion, curiosity, and care.

My Story

At my core, I am a person in a body that understands the impact of individual and collective trauma.

I know how it feels to be overwhelmed, ready to grow, in transition, and in need of accountability and balance.

I use she/they pronouns. I am a Black, Queer, mostly femme-presenting licensed psychotherapist with a focus on anti-oppression, mental health and trauma, BIPOC, and LGBTQIA+ issues. I have formal training in DBT, EMDR, and Internal Family Systems.

I am here to partner with you as you move toward healing. I’ve had experience working with individuals, couples, and groups navigating issues including, but not limited to, anxiety, depression, chronic illness, internalized oppression, racialized trauma, gender/sexual identity, and problems in family, social, and romantic relationships.

I have a Master's Degree in Social Work from The Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College. I’ve worked in support of BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ individuals for over 20 years. I have over a decade of experience as a psychotherapist. My clinical experience includes work in community, hospital, and academic settings in the NJ/NYC area.

Approach

IFS

Internal Family Systems is a central way we understand and support healing. We view each person as having many inner parts—parts that hold emotions, beliefs, and physical sensations—and we approach all of them with curiosity and compassion. These parts developed for important reasons, often to help protect you through difficult experiences.

Rather than trying to push distress away, we slow down and listen. We pay close attention to how parts show up in both the mind and the body, supporting greater nervous system awareness and regulation. At the core of this work is your Self—a steady, grounded presence that helps bring clarity, connection, and care to your inner world.

Through IFS, All Parts Psychotherapy supports clients in building self-trust, healing old wounds, and moving through life with more balance, ease, and authenticity.

EMDR

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing is offered as a gentle, supportive way to heal distress held in the mind and body. Our work is paced and collaborative, with an emphasis on safety, trust, and nervous system regulation.

Using bilateral stimulation, EMDR helps experiences feel less intense and more integrated over time. We often take a parts-oriented approach, honoring your body’s cues and protective responses while supporting greater ease, presence, and connection.

KAP

Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy is offered as a supportive, intentional approach to healing that expands access to insight, emotional flexibility, and connection. Our work is paced and collaborative, emphasizing safety, preparation, and integration.

KAP can help soften rigid patterns, including automatic responses, and create space for deeper self-compassion and perspective. We approach this work through a parts-oriented and body-aware lens, honoring protective responses while supporting meaning-making, grounding, and lasting integration into daily life.
